Coach Marshawn Hampton Select 40 - Eye-Catchers

DULUTH, GA - New Notre Dame Academy Boys Head Coach and Norcross Heat legend Marshawn Hampton continues to seek ways to help get kids exposure.

After a strong showing for his summer camp, he again had some really good talent over at the Notre Dame gym October 21.

The most notable Eye-Catchers from the day:

Richard Rojas | F | GAC | 2024 (pictured at top)

Had the best overall day, dominant at times, big fan of his game for several years now, physical and super-springy, more deep shooting prowess can add cachet to his recruiting profile so this season will be big to show that off with the Spartans, plays like a 4 though undersized for that spot but the uber-athleticism and movement make him a potential steal despite falling position-wise somewhere between the two forward slots.

Khalil Smallwood | G | Dacula | 2024

Had a particualrly good showing in drill-work which means something to me because live play can get choppy at Showcases, love the motor and enthusiasm which translates to a vocal nature that coaches adore, good lift for a point guard and can really show off some explosiveness using the bounce, interesting guy to take a look at as Dacula opens a new regime under former Norcross Assistant Derrick Herbert.

Mamour Mbow | C | SACA | 2024

The epitome of the modern-day rim-runner Mbow for a second time impressed the heck out of me with his play, more notably than the size at 6-8 or the lift off the deck which is real was his improvement in the jump-shooting department, just from 3 months ago he has made HUGE strides in that department stretching the floor all the way past the 3-pt line, that makes him must-see stuff for schools taking a deep dive looking for under the radar legit frontcourt talent here in the fertile ATL-Metro.

Robertson Gensee | G | Discovery | 2024

A real pleasant surprise was the solid and consistent play of Gensee, doesn’t have to own the ball to make an impact and his unselfish play actually sets him apart as a decision-maker picking and choosing his spots wisely, when he does get at the basket it’s effective and athletic, can guard multiple spots which I like and while unassuming in his manner wasn’t afraid to compete and get after it against some really good players on hand.

Richard Dunston | G | Meadowcreek | 2024

Will combine with multi-year starter and sparkplug guy Daron Sturdvant in a Mustang backcourt which is one of the more underrated in a stacked Gwinnett County area, Dunston is just solid in his approach and as a coach’s son it’s clear he’s been well-drilled and as a lead guard has the wits and aggressiveness to impact the game at both ends, could stand to dribble a bit less and get forward more if he wants to separate in a crowded Atlanta PG market.

OTHERS WHO IMPRESSED:

Daron Sturdivant - 2024

Jaden Mattison - 2024

Dante White - 2024

Preston Tuggle - 2024

David Culbreath-Martin - 2025
